Regional Government grants support to five Madeira radio stations
The Regional Government Council, meeting in plenary on March 19, 2026, authorized the signing of program contracts with five radio stations based in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This measure aims to support the dissemination of informative, social, economic, cultural, and sports projects, reinforcing the role of these entities as links of proximity and official information diffusion to the population.
Each station will benefit from a financial contribution not exceeding €84,600.00, distributed over a 36-month period, between April 2026 and March 2029. The beneficiary entities are:
- Rádio JM-FM (Regional Government Council Resolution No. 153/2026)
- Rádio Palmeira (Regional Government Council Resolution No. 154/2026)
- Rádio Posto Emissor do Funchal - Canal 2 - Frequência Modelada (Regional Government Council Resolution No. 155/2026)
- Rádio Popular (Regional Government Council Resolution No. 156/2026)
- Rádio Porto Moniz (Regional Government Council Resolution No. 157/2026)
The Regional Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, Elsa Maria dos Santos Fernandes, was mandated to sign the respective contracts, which remain in effect until March 31, 2029.
